It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Reverend Lindel Winston Brown (Lindy Brown) peacefully at home on Saturday December 12, 2009. Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter, Neweduk-Erin Mills 1981 Dundas Street West on Thursday December 17, from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. The Celebration Service will be held at Erindale United Church, 1444 Dundas Crescent, Mississauga, on Saturday December 19 at 3:30 PM. Reception to follow.
Reverend Lindel Winston Brown was the founding Headmaster of St. Mary High School in Highgate Jamaica. Fifty years ago in the rural farming community in the hills of St Mary, this pioneering spirit, along with his wife Lyn, created a learning and nurturing environment promoting Faith, Courage and Integrity.
In honour of the school’s 50th Anniversary, January 2010, we ask that in lieu of flowers, donations to the Scholarship Fund in his honour be made to support and continue his legacy.
